Unemployed Networking – Free for Unemployed
Are you an unemployed American?
If you are you’re not alone because there are millions of unemployed people across the nation feeling the same stress and worries you have every day. Every day the ranks of the unemployed construction workers, unemployed auto workers, unemployed engineers, unemployed journalists, unemployed librarians, etc. gets larger.
And while they say misery likes company, does it make you feel more comfortable knowing that you’ve got over 31 million people facing the same unemployment problems you do?
I doubt it since being unemployed makes you feel like you’re facing the world alone.
But you’re not alone and you don’t have to feel that way. You see, this is the age of the internet and social networking. That means you can find others who are also unemployed and looking for ways to also handle some of the stress and to share your drive to survive, to get back to work and to rebuild your life.
2 Reasons Why You Should Be Networking With Others Who Are Unemployed
1. Fellow job searchers are usually willing to share advice, information, ideas about where to search for a job and some may even be able to give you a name for someone, like a recruiter, who can assist you with your search. There was a short article on the Wall Street Journal Blog point this out last year. Click here to read it.
2. It allows the numbers of unemployed to unify and build a community of Jobs Activists who want to get Americans back to work. You can find groups for the unemployed on both FaceBook and Linkedin. Also, UnionOfUnemployed is a social networking site set up specifically for the unemployed.
Working alone, 1 unemployed person has no power and the burden is overwhelming. The well known quote “United we stand, divided we fall” accurately describes the situation for the unemployed.
So unite with others, employed and unemployed. Find and join groups to share ideas and resources. Give yourself and the other unemployed millions some power to make a change in both your life and the American work force.
To Your Success,
Susan
