How to Use Clickbank

Clickbank is 1 of the most popular affiliate programs online because it’s:

  1. Free to sign up and use
  2. Contains digital affiliate products and services for almost any niche you can think of
  3. It’s been around for years and is reliable and honest.
  4. Offers both pay-1-time and monthly-reoccurring-payment products and services
  5. Offers customers 2 ways to pay
  6. Gets new product daily
  7. Automatically creates your affiliate link for any product or service you decide to promote

However because people just getting started don’t often remember that just because they know who they are, Clickbank doesn’t unless you tell them.

I say this because of a solo ad I received today from someone who is just getting started in affiliate marketing.

I was able to tell this person was just getting started was obvious because of a mistake they made with their Clickbank affiliate link.

You see when Clickbank provides an affiliate link it looks something like this:

http://nickname.productidentifier.hop.clickbank.net

The “nickname” part of the link is the affiliate’s Clickbank nickname and is used to identify who is making the sale and will get the commission.

The “productid” part of the link identifies the product or service being sold.

The remainder of the link gets the person to the Clickbank site.

The email I received had a link that looked like:

http://xxxx.onfringe .hop.clickbank.net

There were 2 mistakes with this link:

  1. No Clickbank affiliate nickname. If someone buys the product with this link the affiliate will not get credit for the sale and makes no commission.
  2. There is space in the link so the link won’t work. Valid web addresses can not have any spaces.

Now I am not recommending this product because I don’t know anything about it however I do want to show you what a correct Clickbank affiliate link would look like so here’s mine.

To help you learn how to use Clickbank I’ll be posting 3 Clickbank video tutorials.

To Your Success,
Susan
